Vote. Vote. Vote. Vote

Enjoining ‘vote’ four times is not the charm.

Imagine a President whose own party failed to pass a bill protecting voting rights, imploring the American public to vote.

Imagine no more.

It happened, Friday, July 8 during the signing of an executive order protecting women’s reproductive rights.

If it’s summer and things seem to be in slo ‘mo, this must be Washington DC.

How ‘slo you ask?

By my personal experience, four years slo’. Here’s a recall:

In June 2018, my wife and I attended a South Side Chicago Rally Against Gun Violence, hosted by Rev Michael Pfleger. Shortly after we arrived, we shook hands with David Hogg, one of the founders of “Never Again MSD” and current co-founder of “March for Our Lives.”

Our interchange was brief:

Us: “Organize”

David: “Vote”

Note that this exchange took place four years ago.

Why is it that Democrats feel that ‘time is on their side,’ except just before an election when our inboxes get stuffed with campaign solicitations? This is not leadership and goal setting; this is fund raising.
