The Sleeping General

Running out the clock before the midterms

Judging by the speed of securing and enforcing subpoenas, Congress will be reconvening a new House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack after the midterms in 2022. Or perhaps a more likely scenario is that after November 8, 2022, there will be no ‘January 6’ House Select Committee.

‘45’ has brought his legal thugs from the back alleys of Manhattan to the marble halls of Washington. And his rotating legal team brings a well-honed sword to the ‘Inside the Beltway Partisan Joust’: delay, run out the clock, seek cover from federal statute of limitations protections. In other words, obstruct and throw sand in the wheels of justice. Five years comes sooner than you think. And a corruptible political body even sooner.

Everybody “walks.”

Wake up General Garland, it’s time to get on with the job of justice.

Understandably the Justice Department is littered with 45 appointee holdovers, crushed norms, lax enforcement protocols and a bevy of McConnell judicial appointees, some of whom have not taken any Continuing Ed legal courses since “Real Estate and Investments.”

The country awaits justice, General.
