Nothing motivates like misplaced pride. It’s simple really, talk down to people and one can be confident they will be driven to depart your presence.
Alienate, anyone?
Mouth self-serving comments like “we’ve got your back,” “we’re in this together,” and one has committed what I call the “Herbert Spencer crime”:
“There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance — that principle is contempt prior to investigation.”
Truth be told. We are not in this together. Bite your lip: Trump ‘gets us.’ And so do his very wealthy “backs,” who are out to steal the country.
I am sorry that I am not sorry. Most of the world does not watch Rachel Maddow. Time to buckle up, get down to work and assess what America is, rather than freak out about what America has “become,” etc.
