What will be left of the Republican Party once Trump is defeated?

If Trump were to lose the 2024 election, assume there will be a Republican “leadership vacuum” caused by Trump and his allies packing up their tools. That is, to paraphrase the architect of Project 2025, if they exit “peacefully.” The hangovers from repression and corruption will linger. Someone will attempt to pick up and continue the mastery of a disaffected populace looking for the next conspiracy.

“Radicals” will hardly describe the political moment.

Anticipating this moment, candidate Harris as “President Harris” has stated she will make good on her promise to be a President for all the people. Hers will not be the house of recrimination. Yet she will continue to demarcate the guidelines, the rails, the “red lines.” She will not abide interruption.

Harris is not Obama.

Harris has moved on from the aspiring Senator, who showed up at Obama’s Iowa campaign office 18 years ago. Harris has learned from Obama’s tenure as President. Harris has learned to suffer the intersectionality of being a woman AND a person of color. Harris has ably positioned herself as a woman from all of America…
